Students who received their graduate training developing the technologies of modeling and visualizations utilized in PRISM, including developing some of the first PRISM models, took that knowledge into the private sector, forming the company 3Tier (http://www.3tier.com). This company provides renewable energy assessment and forecasting for wind, solar, and hydropower projects.
