The Crystal model receives hydrologic data and time step data from Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets (weeks.xls and flows.xls). The CRYSTAL model cannot be run without these files providing input data to the model. If the files are not opened prior to the "run" command, the model will open the necessary EXCEL spreadsheets. Since this method slows down the model's run time considerably, open the necessary EXCEL spreadsheets before running the model.

1. Open EXCEL spreadsheets.
2. Open Powersim Constructor software.
3. Open the CRYSTAL model file (crystal.sim).
